Rabbi John L. Rosove assumed his duties as Senior Rabbi of Temple Israel of Hollywood in November 1988. A native of Los Angeles, he earned a BA in Art History from UC Berkeley (1972), a Masters in Hebrew Letters from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, LA (1976), Rabbinic Ordination from HUC-JIR, NY (1979), and a Doctor of Divinity from HUC-JIR, LA (2004). His mission has been to build Jewish community and draw Jews and their families closer to God, the Torah, Jewish tradition, the Jewish people, and the State of Israel as a Jewish national home. He regards social justice work and high ethical practices as essential core Jewish religious values.
Rabbi Hudson joinedTempleIsrael of Hollywood as Rabbi Educator-Religious School Director in 2009. Her work at TIOH has focused on creating dynamic Family Education Programs, revitalizing the Teen & Youth Programs, and connecting with learners of all ages. In addition to her work in TIOH’s formal and informal educational programs, Rabbi Hudson officiates at TIOH services and lifecyle events, and speaks and teaches in the wider community. She holds Master of Arts degrees in Jewish Education and Hebrew Letters, and was ordained as a Rabbi in 2007 from the HUC-JIR in Los Angeles. During her course of studies, Rabbi Hudson received awards in bible, liturgy, and Jewish education. Rabbi Hudson sits on the board of the National Association of Temple Educators (NATE). She is a contributor to the Women of Reform Judaism’s The Torah: A Women's Commentary. Before joining us atTempleIsrael of Hollywood, Rabbi Hudson served as the Director of Religious Education of Temple Beth Sholom ofSanta Ana,California. In 2007, she founded the Nefesh Minyan, a community minyan for Orange County Jews in their 20s and 30s, and served as their spiritual leader and advisor. Rabbi Hudson graduated Suma Cum LaudefromBrandeisUniversity.
