brucecorwinI have been a member of Temple Israel Hollywood for over 50 years. My grandfather, Joseph Corwin, was one of the Founding Members of the Synagogue. My father Sherrill was President of the Temple and was singularly responsible for bringing the leading movie stars of the time to the Annual Temple Israel Gala Dinner Dance held at the Coconut Grove in the thirties, forties and fifties – Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis Jr. , The Andrew Sisters, Donald O’Connor, and many more. I served as President in the 1970’s , my son Danny is the fourth generation Corwin to serve on the Temple Board and our granddaughter Teva will have her Bat Mitzvah in July 2016. Teva marks the fifth generation Corwin to be part of the TIOH Family.

My wife Toni and I have been married for 47 years. We have two sons David and Danny and five grandchildren.

I am Chairman of the Board of Metropolitan Theatres Corporation which operates 100 motion picture theater screens in Southern California, Colorado, Utah and Idaho.

In addition to our family and our business I am deeply involved in the Los Angeles Non Profit Community serving on the Boards of The Hebrew Union College, The Discovery Cube Children’s Museum, Martin Luther King Hospital, The Coro Foundation, Temple Emanuel Beverly Hills, The Apple Academy Charter School, and the California Coalition for Public Higher Education. I am a proud graduate of Los Angeles High School, and Wesleyan University in Connecticut with a B/A in Political Science and an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Law.
