RamsayI have been deeply honored to serve on the board of Temple Israel of Hollywood, my family’s spiritual home for more than a decade. My husband Andy Goodman and I (along with our children Daniel and Olivia) joined the temple in 2002 after attending services here for years. Olivia attended the Nursery School, graduated from the Day School and was a Bat Mitzvah at Temple Israel. While she was at the Day School, Olivia participated in the life-changing trip to Israel and our family had the deeply moving and enriching experience of hosting an Israeli exchange student. During this time, I converted to Judaism with Rabbi Michelle Missaghieh and volunteered as a room parent and member of the board recruitment committee, among other activities. I have served as assistant secretary to the board as well. Professionally, I worked for eight years in the Los Angeles City Council office that serves the neighborhood where Temple Israel is located. I was able to help navigate the city bureaucracy with TIOH management staff during the recent renovation and modernization project that has transformed the Temple’s physical plant. I am currently working as an independent fundraising consultant and serve on the board of the Hollywood YMCA and the USC Center for Sustainable Cities as well. As transplants to Los Angeles, my family has been lucky to have found a home in the Temple Israel community, which has deepened, enriched and broadened our lives in countless ways.
