Steve SloanI have had the great honor and pleasure of serving on the TIOH board for many years. I was Treasurer during the Great Recession (fun!), and then was TIOH Board President for 2 years (2011-2013). I have also served on numerous committees including Finance, Personnel, Nominating, and Hillside. Roberta Berrent and I chaired the Day School Head of School Search Committee. I currently chair the Investment Committee.

Our family joined TIOH in 2003 when our daughter Sami entered the Pre-K summer transition program, ahead of entering Kindergarten at the Day School. Sami attended the Day School through 6th grade, and is now a senior at the Oakwood School.

TIOH has played an extremely important role in our family life. Sami grew up at TIOH and had her Bat Mitzvah in our sanctuary. I participated in the Adult B’nai Mitzvah program. Melissa serves as TIOH Librarian. And I went on my first trip to Israel in 2008 with Rabbi Rosove, and a great group of TIOH lay leaders. TIOH is our community, our home away from home.

Professionally, I work for Wells Fargo Bank, as Executive Vice President & Division manager for Wells’ Commercial Banking business in Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties. I also serve on the boards of JVS (Jewish Vocational Service), and the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation.
