One Step in a Life of LearningBecoming a Bar or Bat Mitzvah at TIOH is a step in lifelong learning that we acknowledge and rejoice. A Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremony is a central life cycle event celebrating educational accomplishment, family commitment and the assumption of personal responsibility.
At Temple Israel, the Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparatory progress, service, and celebration of a significant life achievement includes the entire family working with our clergy and highly skilled teaching staff. We embrace its significance as a marker in time and maturity.
Preparation for the Bar/Bat Mitzvah requires three consecutive years of Religious or Day School prior to the Bar/Bat Mitzvah year and every child of a TIOH member family is eligible for his/her Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremony and service any time after his/her thirteenth birthday.
