The Torah declares “How fair are your tents, O Jacob, Your dwellings, O Israel! (Numbers 24:5). In our tents, young children, teens and adults all feel at home. We forge strong bonds amongst students and amongst families. We help foster bonds between our students and their teachers, and between our families and our clergy. We work with learners of all ages to help them build strong relationships with Jewish tradition, with Jewish community, and with God.

We strive to offer individualized learning plans and accommodations for students with special needs in all of our education programs—Jewish studies, Hebrew, and bar/bat mitzvah instruction. We at TIOH hold Jewish learning as a central value. We offer different portals into Jewish learning for different types of learners. We offer exciting, innovative programming that is challenging yet accessible. We create lifelong Jewish learners. We believe in extending the walls of our classrooms to include Los Angeles and the greater world as part of our learning environment. Our teachers are capable educators, who delight in mixing formal and informal Jewish educational techniques to help bring each of our learners to Torah.

Our Religious School program offers a thoughtfully crafted and engaging curriculum for each of our grades. Our grade-level curricula are enhanced by all-school programs, family programs, field trips, and overnight and weekend retreats. Our students participate in music, dance, krav maga (Israeli self defense), as well as other enrichment activities.
