My wife Diane Sherer and I have been Temple Israel of Hollywood members for 10 years. We came in through the pre-School, and I still remember our first meeting with Sherry Fredman when we knew in our hearts, this is the place for us. We’ve raised two sons at the Temple, Ike (13) and Oren (10), and we’re proud to say that between the two of them we have now attended every one of the Temple Schools, Pre-School, Day School, Religious School, and Teen Program. My wife has served as President of the Day School Parent Association, and we’ve both been Day School Ambassadors leading tours for new families. In addition, I serve on the Chesed Committee, conducting shivah services for Temple members in mourning at their homes. This is my 3rd year on the Board of Trustees. Last year I joined the Executive Committee as Assistant Secretary and this year was entrusted with the Vice Presidency for the Arts, a position for which I have great plans and high hopes.

In my spare time, I’m a screenwriter. I write with a partner, my best friend for 36 years, with whom I attended Jewish Day School in Philadelphia. Our credits include The Family Man, Evolution, When In Rome, The Minutemen, and Old Dogs. We’re proud to say we’ve worked with five Oscar winners, none of whom have won a damn thing for our movies.
